Dear Donors,
For many displaced families in northeast Nigeria, hunger is not about missing a favourite meal. It is reaching the end of the day and having nothing left to cook.
Years of conflict have forced families from communities where they once farmed, raised livestock, traded, and provided for themselves. Some fled without knowing when they would return. Others have been displaced for years. When farmland, livestock, homes, businesses, and income disappear, putting food on the table becomes a daily struggle.
Children carry much of this burden. A growing child needs regular, nutritious meals, yet many displaced parents are forced to reduce portions, skip meals, or depend on whatever assistance they can find. Older people, people living with disabilities, pregnant women, and families caring for several children can face even greater difficulty finding enough food.
The scale of the crisis remains alarming. The World Food Programme reports that nearly 5.8 million people in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe are facing severe food insecurity in 2026, while 2.3 million people remain displaced by violence and insecurity across northeast Nigeria.
This is why your Zakat matters.
Through Share Your Zakat to Feed Muslim Families in Crisis, we plan to provide food parcels, nutritious meals, clean water and basic healthcare to Muslim families facing hunger and displacement.
A bag of food may look ordinary, but to a parent with hungry children, it can mean breakfast tomorrow morning. It can mean preparing dinner without wondering which child should receive the larger portion. It can mean an elderly person eating a proper meal instead of going to bed hungry.
To our donors, thank you for remembering these families. Your Zakat carries a simple but powerful message to someone experiencing hardship: you have not been forgotten.
There are still many families waiting for help. Please share this project with relatives, friends, mosques and Muslim communities so that more people searching for a way to give their Zakat can learn about families in need.
May your generosity bring relief to a family facing hunger and put food where today there may be none.
