Project Report | Feb 14, 2023
Youth in Action

By MMCC | team

Food Distribution:

In December our 25 youth team leaders brought small food presents to 1500 families in need in 11 provinces across Afghanistan. These provinces are Kabul, Nangarhar, Bamyan, Khost, Herat, Laghman, Balkh, Ghor, Helmand, Daikundi, and Konar. Our 25 youth team leaders, in collaboration with our management team, each identified 60 of the most in-need families through a comprehensive survey and provided them with the necessary food assistance.

The Suspended Activities are Restarted:

We temporarily suspended our activities because of the new restrictions on females´ work and education in Afghanistan. Later following the Ministry of Education's decision to allow girls to attend primary school, we restarted our activities with some necessary modifications and restrictions. Our Herat center and some of our female teams worked on complying with the new rules and regulations in order to continue the activities. We understand the importance of considering various issues, including security and cultural, social, and religious sensitivities in all our activities. Our flexibility, creativity, and deep community integration are some of the main strengths that help us find the best solutions for the communities we serve. We are committed to continuing our work despite all challenges making a positive impact on the lives of children and youth in Afghanistan.

Difficult winter:

A wave of freezing temperatures is sweeping Afghanistan. Our youth team leaders have modified all their activities to support the children in this difficult situation. More than half of the country's 38 million people are facing hunger this winter, and nearly four million children are suffering from malnutrition, according to aid agencies.

We hope to bring more food and fun to many more children and families with your help in spreading the word and sharing this report and this link: www.globalgiving.org/projects/Sharing in your network and on your social media.
