Hello Everyone - donors, would-be donors, friends and supporters
We had a visit from a member of GlobalGiving office at our project in Bo, Sierra Leone during the month of April. Mr. Alix Halloran (GlobalGiving On Site Coordinator) came and met our local staff and volunteers as well the girls who are presently residing in our temporary shelter until the new one is completed.
There was great excitement with the prospect of meeting someone from GlobalGiving and we hope that Mr. Halloran had a good experience with our project. It seems so, since he gave a very favorable report.
As for the construction efforts on the new shelter, we are completing the first floor of our new and bigger shelter. The monies which were raised through Global Giving have helped make this possible. However, we will need more support for the construction of the second floor.
We are anxiously and joyfully waiting for this new structure as we have girls who are waiting to be admitted but we do not have the facility to house them. Our hearts go out to these abused girls and we want to be able to help them move forward with their lives. So the completion of the new facility is of great consequence to all of us.
We continue to think of new ways to increase our fund raising efforts as funds will be needed to complete the building of this new facility, its cost for constructiion and the upkeep and maintenance of the new shelter.
We are greateful for everyone's good and giving heart.
With heartfelt thanks to all,
Dr. Jen
