After three month implementation of 'Show corruption red card' program in
schools,VAP's Anti-corruption crusader(ACC) shifted the gears to the community
centres. The program was implemented at Makongeni community centres with a total
of 120 youth ranging from the age of 12-18 years both boys and girls.
Youth were taken through various soccer themed activities that address anti-corruption
messages and instill messages of integrity and good leadership. With the new
constitution in Kenya, youth were taught various aspects of the government
function and how if all systems work well and the constitution being
implemented to the fullest, would be of great benefit to the nation.
The sessions were very participatory with participants engaging the ACC with questions
regarding corruption and its outcome. 'I believe we can achieve more as a nation,
if corruption is eradicated in this country, so that Kenya would be a great nation.
"said David Omondi,a 13 year old boy from Makongeni.
