Sijonge Kuwe Food Gardening project-Khayelitsha

By Sikhangele Qwase | Programme Manager

Sijonge Kuwe Food Gardening Project started in September 2023 and this report records activities for the period 11 January to 11 May 2024.

One group of 10 women were trained in food gerdining skills and also attended basic business skills training. This group is based in Khayelitsha Site B.

The  group is well motivated and hardworking people wit a lot of energy. They are always busy working when visited by our Field Worker.

They have already started growing vegetables and Sijonge Kuwe has supplied them with small kit of tools as a start up.The food gardening will help them to feed for themselves  and sell the surplus to get extra income.

We would like to thank Pick n Pay for supporting us with small tools for the group..
