Sijonge Kuwe Foodgardening Project is doing well and we have expanded the project to other parts of Khayelitsha due to the graet demand.22 people were trained in food gardening skills and basic business skills including a group of 8 women in Site B Khayelitsha.
The aim of the project is not only to produce vegetables for the immediate famalies but to sell the surplus so that communities can have some extra income.Food gardening is one of the weapons to fifgt unemployment and poverty amongst our own communities.Since the inception of the project in September 2022 we have trained over 50 individuals in food gardening skills and business skills and some the the people are employing other people as well.
Summary
22 people trained in Food gardeinig skills.
22 people trained in basic business skills training which is a two week course on how to run a business.
34 people were counselled'
