Sijonge Kuwe Job Creation and Poverty Alleviation

Sijonge Kuwe Youth Development Project has been very active in this quarter from November 2024 to this date 7 March 2025.Our programme continue to attract more people from surrounding communities of Khayelitsha.
Art/Culture Skills Training
12 people including 5 women were trained on how to make beads
Business Skills Training
15 People were trained in basic business skills including 3 entrepreneurs from surrounding communities
Business Counselling
10 Businesesses were counselled on business related issues like how to draw up a Business Plan,Marleting your products,Costing & Pricing as well as Record Keeping
New Businesses
6 New businesses were started during this quater
Conclusion
We would like to thank GlobalGiving for the donation of $113.27 received last month and the donation has made a huge difference in our programmes.

Sijonge Kuwe Job Creation and Poverty Alleviation

Sijonge Kuwe Youth Development Project has been active as usual this period from August to November 2024.Our project are running smoothly and one of the challenges is crime in our communities.Our government is doing its best to fight crime but crime is getting out of control in some areas.Despite all these challenges we have been able to deliver on our mandate of improving the quality of life of our people.
10 people were trained in art/cultural skills training and they all completed basic business skills training which is a course on how to run a business.
12 people were counselled on topics like Record Keeping,Costing & Pricing,How to draw up a Business Plan as well as Marketing for their businesses.
6 Networking sessions/meeting were held during this time including presenation by the government on National Development Plan for our country,new project like the expansion of Khayelitsha Mall and othe project of Airport Company of South Africa.These are the opportunities for our clients to get some business locally.
Plans for this term-we will be holding our Annual General Meeting(AGM) on the 26 November 2024 and you will be updated about the outcome during our next report.

Introduction
After the peacefull elections on 29/5/2024 in our country expectations are high and with no party gaining majority stakes are also high.Government of National Unity has been installed.
Business Activities
Sijonge Kuwe continued with its work of improving the quality of life of the marginilized communities.We were busy as usual this term as 25 people were trained in art/cultural skills training.They all completed business skills training which is a two week course on how to run a business.
18 people were counsed during this period including 7 entrepreneurs from the local community.Business counselling was mainly on Record Keeping,How to draw up a Business Plan,Marketing and Tender ADvice.
4 networking sessions were held including the one on 15/5/2024 on how to accelerate township economies.
