Dear Supporters,
One of the issues Sing Me a Story has had since its beginning was getting larger artists and songwriters involved in our program. Often times, artists' managers would often say that their clients were interested in participating but that would often be the end of the conversation. We quickly realized that the reason for this was that we never offered a date, time and place for their clients' to get involved. We decided we needed to solve this issue.
Hence, we began partnering with music festivals across the country to create our first Sing Me a Story Summer Tour in 2016.
It was a huge success!
We partnered with 9 music festivals to give artists at the festivals the opportunity to record songs for local kids in need. In doing so, we would build a recording studio on-site at the festivals where artists could come by and record a song. At Summerfest in Milwaukee alone, we received 20 songs from artists! We also realized this provided a great opportunity for us to bring on corporate sponsors.
Next, we wondered if we were doing this at music festivals, could we do the same thing at music venues? The answer was yes! Over the past two months, we signed on 28 music venues in Chicago, Milwaukee, Nashville, Atlanta and Denver to give artists on tour the opportunity to record songs for local kids. We have just started the recordings and it is turning out to be tremendously successful as well! We also feel this will be a good opportunity for us to bring on corporate sponsors in these cities.
We look forward to seeing how these new partnerships transpire.
Thank you so much for your continued support.
With Gratitude,
Sing me a Story
