It is with great joy that we share that SITAWI was elected one of the best social organizations in Brazil! The first edition of the Best NGOs Award, an initiative of the Doar Institute and Época Magazine, placed SITAWI among the list of Brazilian NGOs that stand out for their transparency, efficiency, quality of the management and good governance practices in their areas of activity.
“Being among the best NGOs in Brazil represents the result of our efforts to consolidate ourselves as a reference in effectiveness and innovation among organizations seeking social and environmental impact.Such awards contribute to our mission of mobilizing capital for positive social and environmental impact, enhancing transparency and bringing more credibility to our peers and partners,” commented Luiza Coimbra, from the communications team.
In total, 1,560 organizations signed up for the selection process and the top 100 were chosen by an executive committee based on performance. A commission made up of representatives of Época Magazine, the Doar Institute and the Center for Public Administration and Government Studies of the Fundação Getúlio Vargas evaluated five principles: cause and strategy; representation and responsibility; management and planning; financing strategy; and communication and accountability.
Since its foundation in 2008, SITAWI has already disbursed more than R$10 million to social and environmental impact, designated to more than 50 organizations and impact businesses. In nine years, more than 200,000 people were reached through projects that permeate human rights, local development, environment, health, income generation, education, gender and others. All results are audited and reported annually on our website.
This achievement would not have been possible without our supporters, employees, volunteers and partners. We thank each and every one of you who support and joined us in the development of Finance for Good :)
