Brief Report on the Tailoring Project
For the last few months, many things changed in the design and implementation of this project, the idea was to put in two places: Mugunga and Byahi where we observed the big number of the refugee population. But now these two places are highly dominated by soldiers and these places are more of war operational zones, and refugees seems to have deserted these areas.
Our Tailoring Center which was already operational in Byahi was vandalized by unidentified people and all the machines were taken at night.
In order to solve this we opted to sponsor some refugee young girls to get trainings from other existing centers that are in secured places.
The year 2023 we supported 9 refugees in the Tailoring Trainings in collaboration with our partner who offers them a training for a period of six months. They all finished the training and are now waiting for us to help them with the equipment in order to start.
Conclusion
As per now, this project does not have enough funding, so the only option is to partner with other existing tailoring centers in order to train our people, but at the same mobilizing funds in order to make an independent training center for refugees.
This project now also needs funding in order to provide equipement to those who have been trained so that they can now start producing and survive on that.
