INLIGHT Project Update – GlobalGiving Report
During the latter part of 2025, INNOBUC has been actively working in Panama Oeste, with a strong focus on the district of La Chorrera, through a community-based tourism development initiative. As part of this work, we have identified the need to improve access to sustainable energy solutions in areas where tourism activities, community gatherings, and local initiatives often take place under limited lighting conditions.
In this context, INLIGHT has played a key role as a complementary and strategic project. INLIGHT is an initiative led by INNOBUC that promotes the use of solar-powered lighting solutions to support communities, improve safety, and enable productive and social activities in a more efficient and environmentally friendly way.
Throughout this period, we have carried out multiple solar lamp distributions in different areas of Panama Oeste, particularly in La Chorrera and surrounding communities. These deliveries have supported local tourism-related activities, community meetings, and daily household use, allowing beneficiaries to optimize their time, extend productive hours after sunset, and reduce reliance on conventional energy sources.
INLIGHT contributes not only to improved lighting access, but also to environmental sustainability, by reducing carbon emissions, lowering energy costs, and promoting the use of clean and renewable energy. By using solar technology, communities are able to work, meet, and develop activities more efficiently while minimizing their environmental footprint.
Overall, INLIGHT continues to demonstrate how simple, clean-energy solutions can generate meaningful social and economic impact. By integrating solar lighting into community and tourism-focused projects, INNOBUC strengthens local capacities, supports sustainable development, and aligns its work with GlobalGiving’s commitment to innovation, environmental responsibility, and community-led solutions.
