Solar-Powered Well for a Health Clinic in Niger

Thanks to your support and that of other generous Wells Bring Hope donors, the health clinic in Karambi, Niger now has running water in its treatment, observation, and delivery rooms. This water project has allowed for improved hygiene practices and overall healthcare at the facility, a fact that will encourage more local residents to seek treatment there. It is now possible for staff at the facility to provide a higher level of care, dramatically reduce the risk of infection for healthcare workers and patients, and improve outcomes for mothers and their infant children.

In addition, the solar-powered, mechanized well that was installed at the site is providing safe water for the community of Karambi Tsofoua, which is home to 1,987 people. The village now has two tap stands that provide daily access to water for drinking and hygiene. As a result, this project has reduced the burden on women and girls, who no longer have to trek long distances to collect water from unprotected sources.

We are looking forward to the completion of two more health clinic water systems this year, and with your help, we will continue to work to provide everyone in Niger with access to clean water.
