Project Update from Mayan Power and Light

“It is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness.” — Chinese proverb

Dear Friends of Mayan Power and Light,

Thanks to your continued support, we are proud to report that, since July 1, 2025, we have completed 25 additional home solar and life saving water filter installations in rural Guatemala for families living without basic infrastructure. These essential technologies do more than improve daily life—they reduce harmful emissions, lower energy costs, boost productivity, and help prevent respiratory and waterborne illnesses.

At Mayan Power and Light, we believe the most powerful solutions to poverty come from within the communities we serve. By combining renewable energy, clean water, and education, we’re helping build healthier, more resilient futures in some of the most remote and underserved parts of Guatemala.

We also work with partner nonprofits to identify additional families, children, and students who would benefit from clean, reliable power. These partnerships help us reach more communities.

Together, we’ve taken steady steps forward. As the proverb says, each home system is a candle lit—bringing dependable light after dark for caregiving and study.

Thank you for standing with families in rural Guatemala. Your support brings reliable light—brightening futures one household at a time. Warmly, The Mayan Power and Light Team
