More than 600 schools in Jamaica have been impacted, and 200 severely damaged, by Hurricane Melissa. This means that education & routine stability for thousands of students are affected, on top of devastation across the country.
Many students are out of school or attending school under conditions that are difficult for us all to fully grasp. We know too that STEM learning requires specific resources and that specific learning areas, including Math, were already suffering.
Today, November 20, we had planned on doing hands-on science workshops with students. With the cancellation of November events due to Hurricane Melissa, we are pivoting to support the rebuilding and recovery of schools.
Your help at this time is critical. Our project link has changed.
