Reaching out to communities
Dear Friends and Supporters,
This year we have already begun our spayathons and campaigns, despite the snow! Working hard to reach as many cats as possible and stop the suffering and abandonment that occurs when unwanted offspring are allowed to be born into a world that cannot provide for them.
After spay surgery the recovery is a key step in the well being of a patient . We make sure our patients receive all the care they need for a smooth pain and stress free recovery . Lots of cuddles and TLC!
1467 cats and dogs have received spays and neuters in 2021 as of March 1, and this is only the beginning. We have the means to reach more communities, to help more dogs to have better lives. The only restraint is funding...and for this we reach out to you, our fabulous supporters. Thank you for helping us ! We hope you will continue to support our massive efforts in the future!

Reaching as many locations as possible to spay
By Nancy Janes | President, Founder and CEO

Dear Friends,
We're on a rush to spay and neuter as many cats as possible to keep kittens from being born this freezing Romanian winter.
Dr. Aurelian has placed 4 signs near the highway and forests where people abandon unwanted animals, explaining that there is *gratis* spay and neuter nearby at Center of Hope hospital, as our funding allows. Only $25 will prevent cats and kittens from ever being born to suffer. Please see our video in the links below.
The Spay Shuttle is reaching remote locations to pick up cats and take them to the Center of Hope for surgeries, afterward returning them to their guardians.
Family Vet clinic in Craiova is spaying and neutering daily to stop the abandonment of unwanted pregnant cats and kittens.
The incredible Center of Hope team is working to help villages outside of Bucharest city.
And the Red Van is traveling to towns and communities to set up on the spot mash clinics for spayathons.
The hardest working veterinary team in Romania is committed to changing the way Romanian animals are treated. We need your help in order to succeed.
Thank you so much for reading this report. We wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving and all the best!

Cat Spayathons this Summer
By Nancy Janes | President, Founder and CEO
![]()
Dear Friends and Supporters,
This year has been challenging due to Covid 19. Donations are hard to come by with the world in crisis. We are continuing to reach communities for spay and neuter as our donations allow, as well as at the Center of Hope (Ilfov Bucharest area) and Family Vet Clinic in Craiova.
RAR also trained another veterinarian through our Veterinary Training Program. Dr. Simina has returned to her mountain community able to provide high quality spays/neuters for the local animals. We are also celebrating the graduation of our Veterinary Technician Ruth who has just graduated from Veterinary University and is now Dr. Ruth!
We have held many community spayathons in Campina villages this summer, as well as in villages near the Center of Hope. Often the Spay Shuttle transports cats from communities to the Center of Hope. In other areas we are able to use local gymnasiums or community centers to set up a make shift clinic for sterilizations.
Soon we hope to be welcoming international volunteers once again to visit our work in Romania. We wish you and your loved ones all the very best.
Thank you for your wisdom and support of spay and neuter in Romania. Your donations save hundreds from ever being born to suffer.
Stay safe and well!
