Greetings Friends,
#GivingTuesday is arriving soon, a day of GlobalGiving to charities. I know that many charities will be asking for your help during this time. Hopefully you will consider helping the cats of Romania.
For us at Romania Animal Rescue, our mission is the same as it has always been since 2003...."To Establish Animal Welfare in the Country of Romania". There is no better way to do this then to help stop the suffering of unwanted animals; cats that are often abandoned due to hardships by owners who cannot afford to care for them. Sometimes pregnant, often impregnated after abandonment. This is why we work extremely hard every day spaying and neutering, educating the public, and training more vets on how to perform minimally invasive spay/neuter surgeries.
As of October 31, 146,680 animals have been spayed and neutered by our team thanks to donor support. This incredible work is extremely difficult to achieve, yet so very rewarding. Knowing that we have and can prevent cats from living in misery, prevent them from car accidents, attacks, diseases, starvation. Knowing that we can prevent males from fighting, females from having litter upon litter, often when they are still just kittens themselves. With your help we have done this.
Romania Animal Rescue is a grassroots charity. We do not pay any staff or Board Members as we are volunteers and donors ourselves. The only people paid are the vets for their hard work. As you view the photos be proud of the work you have enabled us to accomplish. To me it is nothing short of a miracle. When RAR first started in 2003, spay/neuter was considered obsolete, and spaying was often a death sentence as many veterinarians did not know how to perform this surgery. Therefore people were reluctant. We worked for years to educate the public, find the highly qualified veterinarians to work with, and finally in 2008 our mission began to blossom. Now looking at the daily work accomplished by the RAR team, I think about those days when I was continually told "this is not possible" in regards to starting our mission of animal welfare in Romania. It was possible and is expanding daily. The demands for our mobile work, our hospital work, our veterinary education work are constant.
I know this is a very hard economic time for many of us. I kindly ask for your support to please help us continue this mission. The animals need our ongoing support, however our funding is way down.... I hope you can help with a small donation. Thank you.
I wish you a wonderful holiday season.
