Project Report | Mar 1, 2012
From Dr. Aurelian Stefan, Romania Animal Rescue

By Dr. Aurelian Stefan, DVM | Veterinary Director, Romania Animal Rescue

Hello everyone,

Very few of you  probably know where Romania lies or have even heard about this country. There is one thing I would like to tell you about this country: the animals. Animals have been seen as property for far too many years and  it is time for a change. A change that will only come with a bit of help from you the wonderful people reading this report. Romania Animal Rescue generates a better life for so many animals by making their future brighter  and more secure.

We managed to spay and neuter more than 13500 dogs and we are looking to reach our 15000th surgery in the near future. We believe that education the future generation in the humane treatment of animals is the way to go  , we have helped thousand individuals  spay their dogs for free in our mass sterilisation campaigns throughout Romania from Transilvania to the Danube Delta and from the Black Sea to the Carpathians. Every single surgery means the world for the pups that will no longer be born into a cruel world and for the mother dog that will no longer have to nurse in the cold snow.

Because small animal vets are so hard to find in some remote areas we train veterinarians into modern surgical techniques so that animals can be operated safely and with mini wounds and use of painkillers.  Please join us in our projects and be part of the team that provides a better future for the animals in Romania . Thank you for your help and support !
