Greetings from the hardest working charity in Romania!
Friends, we have truly amazing news.....Romania Animal Rescue Inc is now over 161,000 spays and neuters!
This incredible statistic represents the thousands upon thousands of generations of offspring that will never reproduce unwanted animals again. Fewer animals born means fewer abandonments, fewer accidents, less starvation and disease.
But we have the potential to do much much more....
With the addition of our new Kindness Patrol Program, RAR is reaching out to the fields and villages even more than before. Ovidiu and Daniel respond to local caretakers who feed strays and want to decrease the population of unwanted puppies. Providing TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) is essential to stop the flow of suffering animals born into a place that will not be able to provide for their new lives. Dogs are sedated, transported to Center of Hope for sterilization, parasite treatment, vaccines and are treated for any existing medical condition via the Homeless Animals Hospital Program. They remain at Center of Hope until released by a veterinarian. Following release they are returned to their areas and caregiving provider. There just are not enough homes, and the public shelters are hell on earth for these animals.
While we still have our work being done at Center of Hope, Bucharest area and Family Vet, Craiova, the mobile team is doing campaigns often simultaneously in gymnasiums or public buildings in rural areas. Dr. Roxana Stan leads the mobile team, using our van and the new (used) enormous mobile hospital (a donated mobile home from Germany that has been transformed into a hospital).
We just finished our mobile Spayathon in the extremely impoverished community of Rosiori de Vede, and will be heading off to help in Perisoru again tomorrow, Segarcea-Deal Teleorman later in the month, and to villages near Brazov next month. Earlier we brought the mobile hospital up to Galati area where we worked with the local charity Help Labus to sterilize animals in a very poor community.
Together we are stronger, and we truly do need to keep this momentum going.
Only $25 will sponsor a dog spay or neuter, provide parasite treatment and vaccines when necessary.
Thank you for your help for these poor souls.
