Dear Romania Animal Rescue Friends,
Well it has been yet another very busy time for Romania Animal Rescue! Traveling around the country helping as many charities as possible, and at our home bases of Craiova and Bucharest, helping individuals who contact us in great need of spay/neuter for their community animals. From spay/neuter, to Homeless Animals Hospital program that helps the homeless animals and those who cannot afford treatments for their pets injuries, to education with the now 14,200 education books that have been distributed, to the Veterinary Training Camp that RAR sponsors for Romanian vets, we are making life better each day for the animals, as best we can, with your support.
When I first started RAR in 2003, we helped a shelter. I was informed numerous times that no one cared about the animals, no one would spay/neuter animals. At that time we started doing some education about the importance of spay/neuter. In 2006, we began a small project in Romania to help the people who did not want to have puppies or kittens to be abandoned or killed. I was told people would not bring in their pets, but they did. Then in 2008, upon meeting Dr. Aurelian Stefan, the beginning of the Dream Team started. In 2009 we launched our first massive spayathon in Sibiu, and the rest as they say is history. Now, five short years after our first massive spayathon project, I have the tremendous announcement that we have surpassed 25,000 spays/neuters in Romania! 25,510 to be exact! And this is all thanks to supporters who believed in our Dream. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for knowing that we could do this and helping.
Now, onto 30,000!!!
With love and respect,Nancy Janes
Dear Friends,
It has been five years since the founder and president of RAR, Nancy Janes, and I started a movement for the Romanian animals in need. We have grown step by step and now the Dream Team has reached over 25,000 surgeries. Add to this close to 15,000 educational booklets and probably over 100,000 miles that our team travelled to various destinations where our help was asked for. We celebrate our 25,000th surgery with the launch of our latest project: Homeless Animal Hospital. This hospital aims to fight abandonment and increase the adoption rate of pets that need medical care but their human companions can not afford it. We are devoted 100% to our cause and try to find the most efficient ways to achieve our goal. Animals depend on us and we depend on you to stand by our tireless work for the animals in need and be with us when we celebrate our 30,000th surgery. Thank you for allowing RAR to provide this great service for the animals.
With sincere gratitude,
Dr. Aurelian Stefan, DVM, Veterinary Director, Romania Animal Rescue, Animal Spay Neuter Intl
