THANKS primarily to our Global Giving Fundraiser, The Community Action Alliance Animal Welfare committee raised over $10,000 for 2014 and spayed/neutered 430 street dogs (and a few cats), as well as providing emergency veterinary care, fostering litters born on the streets, and supporting adoption events.
This past Sunday the Committee presented an educational program at Jorge Washington grade school in conjunction with other activities that day. In addition to three speakers who addressed wildlife conservation and rehabilitation, Ana Rodriguez Del Valle from Oscar’s Oasis, and Karen Arce Rojas from 4 Patas de Puro Amor, spoke about spay/neutering. They also showed heartwarming “Before” and “After” slides of a number of our successful rescues, and two of the dogs were there “in person” with their families. The perfect ending? Five puppies born to street dogs were adopted at the event!

As we close out a year successful beyond our wildest dreams, we are deactivating this Global Giving project. We hope you will consider supporting The Community Action Alliance Education Committee's new project helping the children of San Ramon who are living in poverty.
