New directions of our work

By VALENTYNA BUTENKO | Lider projekt

Dear friends!

Unfortunately, the war unleashed by Russia in Ukraine has significantly worsened the lives of most blind people, both those who remained in Ukraine and those who found temporary protection in European countries.

In Ukraine, where there is constant shelling, air raid warnings, the need to maintain constant contact with relatives, frequent power outages, and an insufficient number of social workers, the ability to quickly use a telephone is necessary.

In temporary shelters, a quality phone is necessary for learning a foreign language, using the phone as a translator, making purchases in stores, and much more

People with severe visual impairments are faced with the need to be able to act in extreme conditions: orientation in an unfamiliar space.

That is why the specialists of our project set themselves the task of adapting Conquest F3 - a classic push-button phone for use by Ukrainian users in extreme conditions.

This model is dustproof, waterproof, shockproof, resistant to high and low temperatures and other troubles. The screen is covered with explosion-proof glass Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

The Conquest F3 phone runs on the Android 12 operating system, a Helio P22 Octa Core 2.0 GHz processor, and a PowerVR GE8320 graphics processor. Front stereo speakers with a volume of 120 dB and a power of 2 W allow you to enjoy clear and powerful sound. This is very important when using voice programs for the blind.

Very important in the event of a power outage is that the battery capacity is 4000 mAh. This is enough for 2 weeks or 350 hours in standby mode and up to a day in flashlight mode. There is support for fast charging 18 W. You can use Conquest F3 as a Power Bank for other devices. There is a connector for connecting to a docking station.

Conquest F3 will help visually impaired people not to get lost in an unfamiliar place. GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO navigation modules work perfectly.

Very important NFC allows you to pay for purchases without a card, contactlessly, and the infrared port allows you to exchange files or control other devices from your phone. For example, an air conditioner or TV.

Other useful functions of Conquest F3:

· blocking unwanted calls and messages and turning off the sound when turning over;

· dark theme for night time;

· phone search function in case of theft;

· 2 function keys with the ability to assign actions to different presses;

· SOS key for emergency calls;

· compass and pedometer.

 Our specialists create programs that voice the phone in Ukrainian, Russian, English.

They maintain constant contact with users and receive feedback from them on the developed programs.

It is important in our project that the blind specialists themselves work on the adaptation of the software.

We are grateful to each of you who, despite difficult times, support our project.

This is very important both for our team and for blind Ukrainians.
