We are thankful to everyone for supporting our initiatives since the last eight years. Our next project is an Indoor Sports Hall.
We wish to develop and operate an indoor facility for Sphoorti Model School and Sphoorti Children’s Home that:
• provides for sporting, recreational and educational needs
• has significant educational, health and social benefits
• is operationally and environmentally sustainable over several generations
• develops strong community partnerships
Why ...
Sports keep the body and mind active as children learn a lot through playing. They enjoy playing more than anything, right from toddler age. Indoor games help children develop their fine motor skills to handle the coins, the board and gather their focus and catch their attention. Interaction with others teaches them how to handle success and to be a team player.
Nurturing a culture of sports and games as part of the schooling experience creates a long term impact. Our goal is to introduce kids to some good sports, and in this space, we plan to have Carrom Boards, Indoor Badminton, Table Tennis, Foosball, Yoga, and Chess.
Many students come to us with psychological trauma, and sports have been instrumental in alleviating it. The doctors who conduct routine check-ups in our school have noticed significant improvements since we introduced sports at school. Most of our children have expressed a strong desire to continue with sports, and we have witnessed a significant increase in interest over the last couple of years.
We will keep you posted about this project. We hope to complete by Oct 2024.
