Dear friends,
Thank you for your geneority towards our initiative to change lives of girls in need.
Because of your consistent support In the last two months, our girls have been able to get the following
1. One girl won scholarship in National Merit cum Means Scholarship examination
2. two children won Scholarship under the ULLAS Scheme instituted by Polaris.
3. 7 Sphoorti girls participated in Taekwondo Belt-testing and moved from White Belt to Yellow Belt.

14 girl children appeared for STD X examination this March and 13 children cleared all the papers. Three girls scored 9.3/10.0 GPA. It was the second highest GPA in their school.
A few of our girl children scored more than 85 % in Intermediate First Year and around 80% in Intermediate Second Year. The next academic session has started for all the children.
In this report, we would like to share the story of a girl impacted by your helping hands.

The situation

This case study is about N who came to Sphoorti after her father committed suicide.

N was 7 years old when she lost her father. Her father was an Auto Driver who landed into a debt trap. After an altercation with money lenders, he felt insulted and killed himself consuming insecticide.  Unable to manage life without her husband, N's mother sent her daughter to Sphoorti in 2010.

N's story is that of confidence and motivation.

Background of the child

N (15) was born into a very poor family in Warangal. Both parents were landless labor for a long time. Her father purchased an Auto Rickshaw after taking loan from local money lenders. He was not doing well financially and landed huge debts.

Before coming to Sphoorti, N was studying in a local Government school where the quality of education was below par.

N is in STD X now and will appear for Board examinations from March 17th. She scored 8.5 in her Prefinal examinations.

The Change

When N joined Sphoorti, she had very poor communication skills. Once she started going to school, she was able to get along well with others, her behavior improved substantially. Her interest in studies and co-curricular activities has increased. She has been one of the most well-behaved children in the Campus.

N recently scored 8.0 in her STD X examinations and looking forward to pursuing a future in Sciences/Engineering
