Dear friends,
Thank you for your support to Sphoorti projects over the last several years.
Sphoorti has been making good progress in terms of girl child outreach. Currently, we have 95 girls in Primary and High School sections. The bigger news is that the toppers of last year High School exams were three Sphoorti girls each scoring more than 9.5 GPA.
In addition, Sphoorti has been supporting higher education of 25 girls - STD XI, STD XII, liberal sciences and Engineering courses. In some cases, through mini projects, we are able to spend more than $1000 on students' higher education.
We take this opportunity to present a case of girl child's story.
Archana belongs to a tribal village in Mahboobnagar. Her parents were rag pickers. Archana's mother passed away because of drug abuse and overdose while father left her with a relative.
Archana came to Sphoorti in 2009 when she was 12 years. She did very well in her schooling and further studies. Two years ago, she started pursuing Bachelors Program in Computer Science. Her score is 8.6. She is in her final year and has started appearing for campus placements. We hope she lands a job soon and produces a success story.
GlobalGiving has helped us create a good number of success stories - transformation of children from indignity into those with education and awareness.
