In the village of Babu Makrani in Chato Chand, Sukhi lived a simple life with her family. Like many women in the community, she spent her days caring for her home and loved ones, often putting her own health last. For years, she had experienced occasional fatigue but dismissed it as part of her daily routine. She never imagined it could be something more serious.
One day, encouraged by her family, Sukhi visited the SHINE Humanity Clinic in Chilya for a routine check-up. She walked into the clinic unaware that this single visit would become a turning point in her life. As part of the clinic’s standard screening, she was tested for Hepatitis C, and a sample was collected for a PCR test.
A few days later, the results came back positive. Sukhi was shocked and afraid, like many in her village, she had heard of Hepatitis C but knew little about its treatment. Sensing her worry, she was reassured her that she was not alone and that effective treatment was available. She was immediately enrolled in the Hepatitis Program, and her journey toward recovery began.
For three months, Sukhi visited the clinic regularly to receive her medicine. The medical staff greeted her warmly, answered her questions, and encouraged her throughout her treatment.
By the time she completed her full course of medication, Sukhi felt like her life had been given back to her. The constant fatigue was gone, replaced by a renewed sense of well-being. She often shared with the clinic staff how grateful she felt, not only for the medicine, but for the compassion, support, and dignity she received throughout her journey.
Today, Sukhi speaks with deep appreciation for SHINE Humanity, thankful for the treatment that restored her health and the kindness that strengthened her spirit. Her story is a reminder of how timely care and dedicated medical support can transform lives, especially in underserved communities.
