Sponsor a Child Story for April 2018

April is yet another month were some of our Sponsored Children under the African Impact Foundation Sponsorship in Livingstone/Zambia receive a donation of Bicycles from Tour de Afric Riders. It was such a privilege again this year to receive a donation of 20 Bicycles from Tour De Afric. The celebration for receiving the Bicycles took place at the Zambezi Water Front and among the invited guests were Head teachers from different schools within Livingstone, Teachers, Pupils/Students, the beneficiaries of the Previous donated bicycles and the Education Standard Officer (ESO) from DEB’s Office as the Guest of Honor.

The main aim of this donation of bicycles is that “a lot of children in Livingstone cover Long distances to and from school and as the outcome, they miss school a lot because they are tired most of the time and these bicycles help them cut the long distances short to and from school.” Therefore, children are able to attend school without missing a day.

One of the Beneficiary Kennedy, a grade 10 student at St. Raphael’s Secondary School had this to say:

“A huge thank you goes to African Impact and Tour de Afric for these Bicycles you donate to us, I am one of the beneficiary who received a bicycle last year and surely, it has really helped me. I used to attend school 3 times in a week because I used to get tired for I used to cover a distance of 6km every day to go to school and therefore, missed some of the school days. My performance at school was very poor because of missed classes. Now that I’ve got a bicycle, I attend school every day and my performance has really improved. From the 18th position in Class out of 40 students last year in 2017, I am now in the 5th position which is very good and am very happy about it. Keep up your good work and continue to help the Orphaned and Vulnerable Children.”
