The Sponsor A Child program has impacted alot of children in so many different ways. Here is how it has impacted these two sisters.
These two sisters had a lot of challenges and had lost hope when things were not good at home. Their parents separated when they were in grade 6 and their father got custody of these girls. A year later after they sat for their grade seven Exam and got good grades, they qualified to go junior high school. A month later, their father lost his Job and he was not given any benefits. As a result of this the girls could not continue with School because their father had no money to continue supporting their education.
At home, the girls started making doormats and sold them to raise money for school. However, this initiative could not meet the demand for their school fees as it was also used to sustain and meet their basic needs at home such as buying food.
After staying for two years at home without School, their grandmother who could not support them due to lack of finances decided to take the children to Social welfare to ask for Sponsorship. Social Welfare directed them to African Impact Foundation with a letter and after three months, the girls got Sponsorship. They were extremely happy that they could not wait another week to be in School.
The Girls are now encouraging their friends not to lose hope. They are enjoying school and are now doing their 10th grade at Nalituwe Secondary. They are always the best in class and their end of term Exams have the best grades.
They say “thank you to the Foundation for their great continued support”.
