L is an 11-year-old girl who has been a member of the MUVI Pozos Symphony Orchestra for the past two years. The first time she heard that there was a musical group in her community was from her mother and she was very excited, since her father played guitar in a church and her life has been linked to music, but she was still too young to enter school. She waited a year until she was old enough to enroll, the instrument she chose was the transverse flute since she likes rock and believes it is a good instrument to play her favorite music. She says that two years ago she was not doing very well in regular school and not in music school either, but as she improved in music, her self-esteem went up and her grades went up, she even believes that her handwriting in Spanish has improved thanks to the musical language exercises. She currently attends 5th grade in the mornings, in the afternoons she goes to MUVI and on holidays she wakes up at 6 am to help her grandmother sell tacos that her family prepares to help with the household expenses. Now she and her mother are very surprised at how much her school performance has improved and she is very happy that her mother is proud of her.
