Dear Donors,
Thank you for showing interest in this work. Your attention to the project is already an encouragement, as many young people in Nigeria need guidance away from drug abuse.
Drug use among youth is a growing concern in Nigeria. A national survey estimated that over 14 million Nigerians aged 15 to 64 had used psychoactive substances in the past year, with many starting before age 20. Unemployment, poor school access, and stress linked to insecurity have created a climate where drugs are both used as escape and sold as income. Urban slums and rural communities are hardest hit, and the issue is often overlooked in daily public discussions, leaving families to deal with the consequences alone.
Our plan is to produce short films in local languages, telling true-to-life stories about the dangers of drug use and the hope of choosing a different path. These films will be shown in schools, community centers, and youth clubs. We will also distribute them on mobile platforms so that they reach young people where they are most active. Teachers and youth leaders will be trained to lead discussions after screenings, turning the films into teaching tools that spark real conversations.
Although no donations have been received yet, we remain committed to beginning as soon as we have the resources. Each contribution will go directly to scripting, production, translation, and distribution costs. We thank prospective donors once again for considering this effort. Together we can help many Nigerian youth see a different future and reduce the pressure that drug use places on families and communities.
Kind regards!
