Each year, the children develop a project on a topic of their interest and throughout the year they investigate, experiment and make hypotheses about aspects that call their attention. This is called project-based learning, where creativity, reflection and artistic expression are essential to learn about the world from your own perspective.
During December our 34 groups, where 630 children participate, presented their annual project to their families, transforming their classrooms into magical worlds where we can experiment and learn together with them.
We share with you this projects:
What happens when time passes?, where 4-year-old children explored the passage of time on the planet and in the universe and how things change during the day and when many days go by. They even searched for the life beyon clouds, creating a rocket to visit aliens, the stars, God and Santa and learn what they do with their time.
The light through my eyes, which led them to see how we can observe light and colors using different instruments, to understand how light is composed and its different spectra, by the way: Did you know that the northern lights are farts from the sun?
At the same time, another group investigated Cars and their lifestyle: what do they eat? Do they sleep? Where do they go when they get sick or have an accident? And while answering these questions, they were exploring what they liked themselves and their feelings, which is an important process for the construction of their identity and self-regulation.
Each of the 34 projects was just as exciting, especially due to the back-to-school in 2021, after many stayed in their homes for most of the year in 2020.
We invite you to be part of the learning adventures of more than 630 children in 2022 and invest in their child development through our 6 child development centers located in vulnerable communities in Costa Rica.
