August 4th was a big day! As the news media gathered together in La Avellana de Escazú, Costa Rica to witness the opening of Escazu´s municipal child center, 49 children and their families were eager to begin a new chapter in their lives. That warm morning was life-changing for most of the children, since it was the first time they attend a high-quality child center devoted to their education and well-being. Likewise, their parents and caregivers were excited because they know this service gives them the opportunity to go back to their work-life knowing their children are held in excellent hands. The Municipality of Escazú trusts Fundación DEHVI to operate this child center because they know we have the experience and capacity to impact positively these children´s lives.
Fundación DEHVI wants to thank each and everyone of you because there is no doubt this would not have been possible without all of your generous donations! With the money we received from you, we were able to equip this child center with necessary furniture such as shelving and library units, tables, chairs, and baby changers. Additionally, we were able to equip all the classrooms with box-light tables, sleeping mats, and high quality learning and stimulating materials. The donations we received were destined to the nutrition (4 meals per day, 5 days per week) and well-being of the children as well.
Together we are making a difference in Costa Rica´s early childhood development and education! Thanks to you, Fundación DEHVI was able to open its 5th child center, where the lives of more boys and girls, living in socially vulnerable situations, are being transformed.
We invite you to keep supporting these children´s lives with your donations. A second matching day is coming up on September 16th where donations will be matched up to 30%. Also, you can make "recurring donations" where a certain amount of money can be directed automatically to the education, well-being, and nutrition of these children every month.
