Project Report | Nov 2, 2016
Great news!!

By Inge Hernandez Beck | Project Leader

We have great news and I am very eager to share them with you! As you know, we work really hard to provide a high quality education and alimentation to hundreds of children living in poverty and vulnerable situations in Costa Rica. All of our efforts are directed so these children can have the best early childhood development by nurturing their socio-emotional, cognitive and nutritional needs. Thanks to all your donations, we have been able to do so with the children that have been attending our child centers for months and some for years.

However, I am extremely pleased to share with you that thanks to recurrent monthly donations on our GlobalGiving’s project, we were able to enroll a girl at our child center in Loto de Desamparados just yesterday!!!!!! These recurring donations will cover the monthly costs (investment) for this girl's early quality education and alimentation.

Lucía (fictional name due to the family’s request) was on the waitlist and was not able to enroll at our child center at Loto because her family did not have the money to do so. Nevertheless, as soon as we began receiving these recurring donations, we told Lucía’s mother that her prayers had been answered: her daughter was now able to attend our child center and now the mother has the opportunity to find a job to support her family.

Right now, all of our child centers still have many available spaces for more children to come and we would love to fill all of them up and transform more lives. However, we do not have enough funds to fill all these spaces. So I encourage you to make a recurring donation – you can donate from $15 (partial scholarship) to $255 (complete scholarship) – so more and more children on our waitlists may be blessed by your monthly generosity.

We were told from the GlobalGiving Team that "all new recurring donations made from #GivingTuesday through December 31st will be matched at 200% up to $100, on the fourth donation."

Also, "there will be an unprecedented 50% matching for #GivingTuesday donations up to the first $1 million raised. This is the largest amount of matching funds GlobalGiving has ever had in one day in order to match more donations than ever before!"

Don't miss these opportunities to help us impact more children's lives!

We know that with your help we can raise the $11,470 that are missing to achieve our goal.

I thank all of you for being part of this project. I also thank our generous monthly donors for giving Lucía a lifetime opportunity.

Have a great week!

My kindest regards,

Inge Hernández Beck
