Project Report | Jun 25, 2025
Education is a RIGHT, not a PRIVILEGE

GlobalGiving Project Report

Project Title: Continuing Malala’s Dream – Educating Girls in Pakistan
Organization: NUR Foundation (Fatima Memorial System)
Report Period: Q2 2025

Project Overview

In the heart of Lahore’s underserved communities, 30 NUR Foundation schools are lighting a path for 1,850 students — but only 35% of them are girls. This project is our promise to increase that number to 50%, ensuring that no girl is denied her right to education because of cultural stigma or poverty.

With your support, we are adopting girls into our formal education program — giving them not just tuition, but uniforms, school bags, shoes, and dignity.

Progress Update (April–June 2025)

  • Girls Enrolled: Target was 925; we reached 654 girls (up from 595 last quarter).
  • Adopted Students: Out of a goal of 600, we have fully sponsored 482 students so far.
  • Dropout Prevention: Home visits conducted in 17 vulnerable households to prevent dropouts.
  • Community Engagement: 6 school-parent meetings held, with over 150 parents participating.

Voices from the Field

“Before this program, we could only send our son to school. Now, both my children wear uniforms proudly. My daughter wants to be a doctor.”
Ayesha’s mother, NUR Community School, Bhobtian
“Getting a bag, books, and shoes made me feel like I finally belong.”
Amna, Grade 5 Student

  • 482 girls received sponsorship support including uniforms, tuition, and school supplies.
  • Counseling and family outreach provided to over 50 girls at risk of leaving school.
  • Parental incentive programs introduced to support continued education for girls.
  • Monitoring and evaluation framework launched for quarterly progress tracking.

  • Uniform & Essentials: $32 per student; $15,424 spent this quarter.
  • Community Mobilization & Home Visits: $20 per student; $6,420 spent this quarter.
  • Monitoring & Administration: $10 per student; $3,210 spent this quarter.
  • Total Spend (Quarter): $61,204 (approx. PKR 17.0 million)

Remaining Goal: $44,690
Recurring Donations: 0 (Let’s change that together!)

Looking Ahead

  • Launch a school-based storytelling campaign highlighting the power of girls' education.
  • Initiate training for teachers on gender-inclusive classroom strategies.
  • Target: Reach 725 total girls by October 2025 with full sponsorship.

How You Can Help

  • Sponsor a girl’s education for just $137/year.
  • Share this project with friends and family — your voice matters.
  • Start a monthly recurring donation — even $10/month goes a long way.
  • Follow our journey on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

Why This Matters

Pakistan ranks second in the world for children out of school. But through the Continuing Malala’s Dream initiative, we are rewriting that statistic — one empowered girl at a time.

Your support is not just helping one student — it is uplifting generations.
