In Abia State, many orphans lack daily meals, safe shelter, and access to school. UNICEF reports millions of Nigerian children have lost one or both parents, with poverty worsening their situation. Rising food prices and school costs now place many orphans at risk of hunger, homelessness, and school dropout. This project will support orphans with food, education, and shelter when help is urgently needed.
Many orphans in Abia State live without steady care after losing parents to illness, accidents, or conflict. Caregivers struggle to feed them daily, pay school fees, or provide safe housing. Government support is limited, and extended families are overwhelmed. As food prices rise, orphans are pushed into hunger, street work, and school dropout, placing their safety and future at risk.
This project will support orphans with regular meals, school fees, learning materials, and safe shelter support. Working with local caregivers, schools, and community leaders, we will identify orphans most in need. Funds will be used to provide food supplies, cover education costs, and improve shared living spaces, helping children remain fed, housed, and enrolled in school.
Orphans who receive stable food, shelter, and education are more likely to stay in school and avoid life on the streets. This project will help children grow in safe environments, gain education, and build skills for adulthood. Communities benefit when vulnerable children are protected, reducing crime, child labor, and long term poverty in Abia State.
