In the rural outskirts of Jarabulus, northern Syria—where tents and modest homes are scattered across land exhausted by years of war—lives young Salem with his mother under extremely harsh conditions. Having lost his father years ago, Salem, who is not yet nine years old, holds onto hope with innocent eyes.

Salem and his mother live in a humble home lacking the most basic necessities of life. His mother relies heavily on humanitarian aid to survive. In these difficult circumstances, the financial sponsorship provided by generous donors came as a merciful hand, easing the burden of poverty on this small family. It enabled Salem’s mother to buy food and essential needs for her son, as well as school supplies that he might have otherwise gone without due to financial hardship.

This sponsorship has had a profound impact on both Salem and his mother. It restored a sense of dignity and security, and reminded them that they are not alone—that there are kind hearts standing by their side, sharing in their struggles and pain.

Hatim is just nine years old, yet he has already lost his father to the war—deprived of a father's love at a time when he needs it most.

His mother, displaced and impoverished, does her best—despite very limited resources—to secure food and warmth for her only son. The camp lacks the most basic necessities of life, and with the arrival of the harsh summer season, the suffering of the families living there grows even more severe.

Thanks to your generous contributions, we were able to provide a financial sponsorship for Hatim this month. This support helped his mother obtain essential supplies such as food, medicine, and clothing. The sponsorship brought a sense of relief to the mother’s heart and joy to a young boy’s face—still full of childhood innocence despite the harshness around him.
