Lina, a young girl still in the early years of her childhood, lost her father two years ago during the tragic events that have torn Syria apart. Not long after, her mother left her behind and remarried, abandoning Lina to face a world far too heavy for her small shoulders.

Her only shelter became the embrace of her elderly grandmother, who took it upon herself to raise and care for Lina with love and compassion, despite her own difficult circumstances.

Today, Lina lives with her grandmother in a shelter center in the rural outskirts of Jarabulus, northern Syria, a place lacking even the most basic living conditions. Yet, true warmth comes from the grandmother’s heart—a heart that refuses to give up.
