Amid the dire humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip, especially in temporary shelter centers that thousands of families fled to escape bombing and destruction, the suffering of orphaned children stands out as one of the most painful realities. Among these children is Zaid, who lost his father during the recent events and now lives with his mother in one of the temporary shelters in northern Gaza.
Zaid, at his young age, was deprived of a father’s warmth and a stable home, and he lives with his mother under harsh conditions that lack the basic necessities of a dignified life. However, thanks to the generosity of donors, we were able to secure a financial sponsorship that helped his mother meet some of his essential needs such as food and clothing, and allowed her to give Zaid a sense of security and care amidst this difficult reality.
This sponsorship had a significant impact in easing the burden on his mother’s shoulders and gave Zaid a chance to live with a minimal sense of dignity and hope—just like other children.
We sincerely thank all the donors who contributed to this sponsorship and emphasize that your continued support is a lifeline for orphaned children in Gaza, offering them a glimmer of hope for a better future despite all the challenges.
