In one of the informal camps in the countryside of Jarabulus, northern Syria, lives nine-year-old Masa, an orphan child residing with her mother and elderly grandfather in a humble tent lacking even the most basic necessities of life. But what this family misses most is not just food or shelter—it is the father who is gone forever.
Masa’s father had attempted to migrate to Europe in search of a better life for his family. Tragically, he never made it. The boat carrying him and other migrants sank off the shores of Greece, leaving behind a grieving wife and a little girl who now remembers her father only through faded photographs.
Thanks to your generous donations, we were able to deliver a financial sponsorship to Masa’s family, which helped them secure some of their essential needs—food, clothing, and medication for the ailing grandfather. This sponsorship was not just a sum of money; it was a lifeline in a sea of hardship, a powerful message that Masa is not alone.
We witnessed tears of joy in her mother’s eyes and a quiet smile on Masa’s face—a smile that spoke volumes about the hope you gave her.
We sincerely thank everyone who contributed to this sponsorship. Your continued support is a true lifeline for families who have lost their breadwinners and now survive on the margins of life in displacement camps.
Together, let us keep planting hope in the hearts of orphans.
