Last week we asked the teenagers in our program to share how they feel they have changed in the last year of being a part of the program. Below is a couple of the things that they wrote.
Shadi(17 y/o): I am more confident. I met new friends and I am better in basketball. My English has improved and I've been to places I have never been before. I don't stay home lonely anymore.
Maroun(14 y/o): I am more patient. I don't have aggresive reactions anymore. I feel like I can share my emotions. At home I am less stressed. I feel like I have a reason to go and meet people.
Rita (16 y/o): In the past few weeks that I have been in basketball team, I've learned to be a bit calmer and take things a bit less serious. The place feels like home. Before coming to Triumphant Mercy I had anger issues and I was always angry. When I started comig it was so easy to be a bit calmer and not angry at everything. Everyone here is so kind and beside some fight or misunderstandings the coaches are so kind.
We are so happy to see how the teens see themselves succeeding also. It is not just us recognizing it but they are seeing the change in themselves.
We look forward to the next season and see more and more change in the teens.
