Learn to Crochet class in the new space
The first 3 months of the year have already passed and much has happened at the Youlou Art Centre. On March 14th the Youlou Art Centre officially moved from it's former location at Villa Beach, to Indian Bay, which is one bay over from it's former location. We are fortunate in finding this building close to the sea with lovely views of the Grenadines and nice breezes.
During the months of January, February and March repairs were done to the building and continue since it had not been used in for over 10 years. It had to be rewired and now the painting is taking place. In order to make the move the workmen prepared 2 rooms we could move into and attempt to get settled, within 1 week of our move we were able to continue our art classes. The Saturday morning children's art program called 'Hello Art" and a textile workshop called "Learn to Crochet".
The plan is to finish the repairs by the end of April and concentrate on the next big show slated for July, it is called " Vincy Women Artists Now 2019 " 13 women have agreed to take part in this show.
Also plans are being made for the annual children's art program held every, July/August. This popular program is held in four locations on the island.
The plan is to continue with the theme "From The Sea".
We are counting on you donors to continue to support Youlou Arts. Teaching children to be creative is a wonderful gift.
Your generosity is not taken for granted, continue the support.
