Donors thank you for your continued support.
The eruption of the volcano, La Soufriere in April, caused many disrupptions and challenges.
Youlou Arts Foundation immediately responded to the disaster by donating art supplies to the children in shelters at the Buccament Government School, the Calliaqua Government School, the Girls High School and the Central Leeward Secondary School at Peter's Hope.
In June Youlou Arts Foundation hired an art instructor to provide art activities for children sheltering in schools. The plan was to create murals and other fun art activities. The targeted schools were: the Thomas Saunders Secondary School, the Kingstown Preparatory School, CW Prescott School, the Girls High School, and the Grammar School.
A total of four outdoor murals were created with help from the evacuees.
Finally during the last week of July the shippment of art supplies needed for the art kits arrived. The shippment contained donations from "The Beautiful Stuff Project", members from "Turtle Studios" and friends in Massachusetts,
Currently the art kits are being distributed to the children in shelters.
Preperations are being made for the 2021 annual visual arts programme which starts August 9th.
This year the program is being offered in one location, at the Youlou Art Centre, Indian Bay.
There will be news about this program in my next report. Stay tuned donors and continue to support us. Your financial aid is always needed.
