MY JOURNEY WITH TIMEOUT4AFRICA
My name is Gana Favour Kaye, a 19-year-old from Minna, Niger State, Nigeria.
My mother raised me single-handedly and sponsored my education since I was six years old. She taught me that education is one of the most important tools for success in every aspect of life.
In 2016, I gained admission into Mawo Schools and Educational Services as a Primary 6 pupil. I was the happiest girl on earth because Mawo Schools had always been my dream school since my family relocated to Minna. Little did I know that my educational journey was about to become even more rewarding.
That same year, the Timeout4Africa STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Program was introduced, and I was fortunate to be among the pupils selected. That was the beginning of my journey with Timeout4Africa.
From Junior Secondary School through my graduation from Senior Secondary School, Timeout4Africa supported my educational needs. They paid my school fees and provided school uniforms, sportswear, books, school bags, T-shirts, pencils, crayons, and other learning materials. This generous support enabled me to remain in school and focus on my studies until graduation.
Growing up, I had always wanted to become a banker. However, through the STEM Program, I developed a deep love for Science and Mathematics, which inspired me to choose the science field. Timeout4Africa ensured that I never regretted that decision. They consistently encouraged me to remain focused on my studies, work hard, and keep striving for excellence. Their motivation kept me going even during challenging times.
In 2023, I sat for the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) and successfully passed my five core science subjects. In 2025, I registered for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination and recived a passing score in English, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
I applied to study Radiography at the Federal University of Lafia, Nasarawa State, and I was fortunate to be offered admission. In February 2026, I matriculated into the university, and I am currently a 100-level student studying Radiography. I am gradually adapting to university life and working hard toward achieving my goals.
My family and I are deeply grateful to Timeout4Africa for believing in me and investing in my future. This sponsorship has not only funded my education but has also helped prepare me for my future professional career. I am determined to make the most of this opportunity and make everyone who has supported me proud.
