The world has become one big global village and the younger generation need to keep up with technology to be at the same pace with the rest of the world.

For the first time, our participants learned coding using Scratch. Scratch is a programming language and online community used by children to interact through creating stories, animations, and games.  The language used in programming helps enhance their creativity, work collaboratively and improve their critical thinking skills.

Stepping Stones International participants developed their own projects by creating characters and conversations through story telling. In addition, participants further practiced their coding skills by designing visual alert messages, encouraging them to keep wearing masks due to the resurgence of COVID-19 variants in Botswana. The message circulated on social media platforms.

With the introduction of individual laptops in public schools by our government, the skills we are teaching participants will help them to make fun presentations in schools and also expose them to more career choices in the tech industry.
