Every month, girls miss school simply because they have their period. This project keeps 323 teen girls in school with hygiene kits and education. Elite Star Foundation already supports vulnerable children in Nigeria and now tackles period poverty directly. Girls gain dignity, confidence, and uninterrupted learning-turning a basic need into lasting opportunity.
Girls are missing up to 5 school days monthly due to lack of sanitary products. This leads to poor performance and dropout risk. Stigma and silence worsen the problem, while schools lack safe hygiene spaces. Period poverty quietly pushes girls out of education, reinforcing inequality and limiting their future.
This project delivers menstrual kits, health education, and stigma-reduction sessions to 323 girls. Workshops build confidence and knowledge, while community engagement shifts harmful norms. Schools receive support to create safer spaces. The approach combines direct aid and education to keep girls present, prepared, and empowered.
Girls stay in school, perform better, and complete their education. Confidence and knowledge extend beyond the classroom, influencing families and communities. Reduced stigma supports more girls over time. Educated girls become economically independent and community leaders, advancing gender equality across generations.
