All participants showcasing their dreams!

Dear supporters,

On August 14th 2025, we had the privilege of hosting a diversity workshop at the Nara Chamber of Commerce. The workshop, entitled “Let’s Embrace Our Differences and Uniqueness! Let’s Have Fun Learning About Diversity in English!”, brought together elementary school students aged 7 to 11.

The workshop began with a personal stories from both myself and adult participants who shared their personal dreams and experiences, setting the stage for a meaningful conversation about individuality, aspirations, and cultural differences. It was especially interesting to see the unconcious biases, specifically regarding gender, that children possessed about certain job roles.

One of the most memorable parts of the workshop was when the children had the chance to present their own dreams. This activity encouraged the children to reflect on their own identities, while fostering a sense of mutual respect and understanding for the diverse dreams of fellow participants.

After the workshop, we received positive feedback from participants, including the exciting news that some of the children had begun studying English as a result of the workshop! This demonstrates the impact that such events can have, not only in raising awareness about diversity but also in sparking curiosity and enthusiasm for learning.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us and contributed to the success of the workshop. It is always rewarding to see how our efforts are helping to create a more inclusive and open-minded community.

We look forward to continuing our diversity and inclusion initiatives and are excited to share more updates in the coming months
