Safe Water Sports is a non-profit organization founded in 2015 with the interest of providing information and raising awareness to the general public on safety matters related to recreational water activities and water sports with great emphasis on safety standards and the prevention of drownings and sea-based accidents.
In 2022, SWS plans to present a unique swimming program for children of 3 months-12 years old that teaches them what they need to know when they start learning swimming. The program will consist of 4 levels where children will be awarded with a diploma that presents their skills each year. At the same time, the Organization in cooperation with a team of experts will create a series of videos that present all the stages of the swimming program and basically anything that may be considered helpful for them.
Additionally, in 2022 SWS plans to create a series of interactive educational videos at the swimming pool where students watch a story movie and they have to decide about the flow of the story. In 2021, the Organization managed to create a series of educational videos regarding safety at sea and in water sports where children had to decide how the story continues. Basically, students decide the right side or the wrong side on the video and they have the ability to watch what happens when they choose the wrong one.
Furthermore, one of the Organization's major goals is to meet with the Embassies of European Mediterranean countries in Greece in order to discuss and cooperate with them in the purpose of organizing an EUMED summit raising the importance of the safety issue in the aquatic environment.
Finally, in 2022, SWS will produce and present the statistical data regarding drownings and accidents in the aquatic environment in Greece from 2017-2021.
