Over the past months, Safe Water Sports has continued to strengthen its educational and prevention activities, with a strong focus on engaging children, families and the wider community in water safety. In September, the Organization held its annual Fundraising Dinner, welcoming more than 350 guests, whose participation and support contributed directly to funding school visits to Ocean Lab, the educational space created by Safe Water Sports. Demand for the program has been particularly strong, and for the 2026–2027 school year almost all available school-visit slots have already been booked, confirming the growing interest in experiential water-safety education. Looking ahead to 2027, Safe Water Sports aims to further expand its impact through two major initiatives. The first is the development of a new and innovative swimming and water-safety program for children and people with disabilities, designed to address different mobility needs and ensure that more children can gain confidence, skills and safe access to the aquatic environment. The second is the creation of an international Mediterranean Forum on Drowning Prevention, bringing together Ministers, public authorities and competent organizations from Mediterranean countries to exchange good practices, present national prevention measures and discuss common challenges related to drowning prevention, with the goal of encouraging stronger cooperation and coordinated action across the region.
