Dear Donors and Well Wishers,

Greetings from BPA!!

I trust this progress report finds you in Good Health.

The first wave of Covid 19 Pandemic was limited to the urban areas in India, and the rural areas were not much affected. The rural area was affected because of lockdown, and restriction on economic activity during the first wave.

No one had ever imagined the second wave of covid 19 pandemics was so dreadful, frightening, and challenging to human lives. There was a sudden increase in the cases, and the cases in rural India was increasing unexpectedly. The health services were also limited, and the shortage of oxygen beds and cylinders was a major issue and challenge.

The Stop Hunger Project has started services of providing oxygen concentration machines to the poor and needy families without any charges. The family members of covid 19 patients were required to submit the RT PCR report, and the Doctor prescription mentioning required an oxygen concentration machine. This initiative was started with 5 machines and increased to 55 machines. The project has also provided support in the tribal area of Aravali district to set up an oxygen concentration machines bank by providing 25 machines. These machines are available for use without any charges. With this initiative, more than 85 human lives were saved.

Mr. Chauhan was affected in Covid 19 and 78% of lungs were affected. He was hospitalized for 23 days. He was discharged from the hospital and advised to oxygen treatment at home. He approached many institutions where he was told to pay a deposit of 50% of the machine cost or rental was 500 Rs per day. He was poor and his family cannot afford the same. His son came to know about Helpling Hands Stop Hunger Project and availed of the services without any charges. He was so happy to share that his father was survived because of this machine which he used for almost 30 days.  He thanked the donors and all the supporters for saving the life of his father. There are many more such human interest stories to share.

In the second wave, the Stop Hunger Project was in great demand, the demand from rural areas was very high. This time the project team worked very hard day and night to supply the ration kits in remote locations in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Odhisa. In Gujarat, almost 26 districts were covered, Rajasthan 2 districts were covered, and in Odhisa 1 district was covered. More than 12000 families were provided support during the second wave of the covid 19 pandemics. The total reach of the Stop Hunger Project is 38,000 Families.  The project has increased targets to reach 50,000 families. While working with such families, the project team has realized that this project needs to be implemented on regular basis for such senior citizens who have disabilities, and are very poor. They can not work due to their, and disability. 500 such families of senior citizens with disabilities will be adopted and long term support to be provided to these families.

We request you to continue your generous support to this project by adopting a poor senior citizen with a disability. We request you to share this project appeal with your friends, and families.

Thanking you once again for all your support and encouragement.
