Puppy mill operations are horrific, and sadly all too common. Female dogs are kept as full-time breeders until they can no longer conceive. For most, this means years of overbreeding under forceful and atrocious conditions that cause tremendous pain and suffering. Once they're no longer of use, they suffer abandonment or death. ROLDA rescuers are on the ground saving helpless dogs from these horrific conditions, and helping them to recover and experience joy after a life of being exploited.
ROLDA locate puppy mills and bring innocent dogs to safety. But the medical needs of rescued dogs are complex, and we desperately need funding to provide the care they require. Eight female French Bulldogs were our first rescue and sadly won't be our last. They were treated like machines, repeatedly giving birth until their bodies could no longer cope. Rescued dogs suffer from vaginal prolapse, severe skin conditions, deteriorating bones, paralysis, organ failure, and other serious ailments.
By funding this project, you'll help dogs saved from these horrific places to receive emergency veterinary care and long term post-surgery recovery. Not only this, you'll help rebuild the confidence of these scared souls, and get them ready to enjoy life and find their loving forever homes.
Not only are we responding urgently to rescue dogs from puppy mills, we are addressing the problem at its root cause.
