Break The Silence.....!!
Dear Friend Namaste!
RSKS India Family Wishes you A Happy Giving-Tuesday !!
We Have Been Getting your Valuable Generous support through GlobalGiving and we are Thankful to you from the Core of our Heart.
We often see the cases of practising gender inequality and child marriage in rural areas as the rural community is not aware of such social evils that disturbs the balance in the society. In gender inequality, males are considered superior to females and the mostely community still believes that the birth of a girl is a curse that encourages female foeticide. Consequently, gender inequality is increasing day-by-day in the society.
In order to make the society aware of gender inequality, female foeticide, child marriage and such other sensitive issues, Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan organizes awareness progrmas. The organization puts efforts to spread awareness in the society in distant rural areas through road shows, puppet shows, workshops, awareness rallies, signature campaigns, etc. This year, RSKS with the financial support of GlobalGiving Foundation, organized awareness program on gender inequality through social mapping in seven distant villages of Pisangan block. Male and female both sections of the society participated in the program where our activists made them aware of the issue through social mapping.
The rural community was made understand about gender inequality through social mapping where we delivered message to stop discriminating boy and girl. The rural community, especially men were impressed most in the program and they supported it. All men and women in the program took oath to eradicate gender inequality from the society. Our activists also communicated the importance of birth of girl with the audience through social mapping. One of our activists discussed the issue with a woman in the program that is presented here in the form of a story.
Salma's Story :- My name is Salma and I'm 34 years old. Being a women, I have experienced discrimination since childhood. I was deprived of getting education due to which I remain illiterate and I was married at an early age. I had so many dreams that were shattered after being married. When I came to know about social mapping organized by RSKS in our village, my husband and I got ourselves registered for the program and understood gender inequality through social mapping. RSKS through the program made us aware of the issue. As we also have a 4 years old girl child, after attending the program we swore to get our girl child better education and health. Now, I'm verry happy as the difficulties I had faced in my time, my daughter will be away from such problems and she will have a bright future. I thank to RSKS and the donors from the bottom of the heart.
